PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a see-through type plasma display panel with high design effect. SOLUTION: In this plasma display panel, a transparent front face substrate 12 and a transparent back face substrate 20 are arranged face to face at a predetermined interval, and circumferential edges of the both substrates are sealed for forming an airtight enclosure 24, while the inside of the airtight enclosure 24 is filled with discharge gas. A plurality of transparent first electrodes 14 arranged on the front face substrate 12 side and a plurality of transparent second electrodes 22 arranged on the back face substrate 20 side are arranged to cross each other at predetermined intervals, and when the crossing parts between the first electrodes 14 and the second electrodes 22 are surrounded by partition walls 30a and 30b of a metal barrier rib 30 constructed by forming an insulation film 28 on the surface of a metal base material 26, discharge cells 32 are formed. A phosphor 34 is applied to the surfaces of the partition walls 30a and 30b surrounding the respective discharge cells 32, and an aperture ratio of each of the discharge cells 32 is set to be 25-95%.
