PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in that the modification of a layout as intented by a user is difficult due to low flexibility in establishing the layout.

SOLUTION: The decision of the layout in printing a picture involves: receiving any selection by specifying the arrangement and the size of a printing range for printing the picture; receiving the specification of the arrangement of the printing range when the selection of the arrangement specification is received; receiving the specification of the size of the printing range when the selection of the specification of the size is received; and deciding the layout so that the picture may be printed in accordance with the arrangement of the received printing range and the size of the received printing range.
