<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print system and its control method for automatically updating association information of a printer and an authentication device, and for easily and flexibly performing updating work of system management information accompanied with the new installation of a device. <P>SOLUTION: A print server 10 stores and manages the system management information including the association table of an operable printer in a print system 100 and an authentication device, and detects a device newly connected to a network, and decides the type of the device detected by the device detecting means by a decision means, and when the type of the device decided by the decision means is a printer, adds a printer 30 to the association table of system management information, and associates it with an authentication device 40, and when the type of the device decided by the decision means is the authentication device, adds the authentication device to the association table of the system management information, and associates it with the printer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
