PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electro-optical device, which allows an electro-optical panel to be automatically mounted on a package case by accurately align the electro-optical panel relative to the package case. SOLUTION: When a liquid crystal panel 10 is automatically mounted on a package case 40, inside corner parts 13a to 13c of a light shielding film 13 defining a display area 10a formed in the liquid crystal panel 10 and attaching holes 40a to 40c provided in the package case 40 are detected, and amounts of positional deviation X and Y between the liquid crystal panel 10 and the package case 40 are calculated in accordance with inside corner parts 13a to 13c of the light shielding film 13 of the liquid crystal panel 10 and attaching holes 40a to 40c of the package case 40, and the liquid crystal panel 10 is moved and is aligned with the package case 40 on the basis of the amounts of positional deviation X and Y, and in this state, the liquid crystal panel 10 is mounted on the package case 40.
