PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inset block to be placed between an entrance door and its jamb for the prevention of crime for an apartment house having high airtightness and thus requiring ventilation by partially opening the entrance door with a door chain or an Arm-Lock installed. SOLUTION: This inset block for the entrance door comprises a head portion 3 (a portion to be inserted) having a head size just fit to a gap created between the door and the door jamb, a grip 1 shaped to permit a person to easily handle the inset block without crouching down, and a shaft 2 having its length requiring no crouching of the person.
