PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prophylactic and/or curative agent for diseases caused by the increase in collagen production, particularly to find new applications of DMP1(Dentinmatrix protein 1). SOLUTION: In order to solve the above problem, a means for specifically expressing DMP1 in bone tissue has been established, and based on examining the function of DMP1, it has been found that the production of DMP1 inhibits the expression of I-type collagen gene. Thus, as the new applications of DMP1, an inhibitor for producing the genetic product of the collagen gene and/or a method for inhibiting producing the genetic product of the collagen gene, the prophylactic and/or curative agent for diseases caused by the increase in collagen production, and method(s) for preventing and/or treating such diseases, are provided, respectively.
