The invention relates to a method and a device for exhaust gas and catalyst temperature determination in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle. Said exhaust system comprises an exhaust pipe, with at least one catalyst and operating parameters for the motor vehicle and the associated power unit are fed in to a motor control unit and determined, by means of a model, are (a) an exhaust gas temperature (Tab) downstream of a temperature sensor (28), depending on a heat loss (vrver) in the exhaust pipe (22) and a thermal inertia of the exhaust pipe (22) and/or (b) the catalyst temperature (Tk), depending on a mean adiabatic temperature (Tm,k) of the catalyst, a heat loss (Kver) in the catalyst, an effect of a pollutant conversion (Kum) and an exhaust gas temperature value (Tab,vk), taken before the catalyst. |
