<p>The invention relates to a device for simultaneous, integrated voice and data communication, known as a teledataphone, which comprises the necessary interfaces, programs and components to facilitate voice communications, by sending or receiving audio signals through the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and IP protocol packets through the Public Packet Switching Internet Network. The inventive device is characterised in that it: consists of a compact, integrated unit comprising a standard telephone, an IP telephone, a router, a plate or chip for proprietary encryption of packets, a control unit and an interface module for wireless Internet access; enables a computer or network of computers that are connected to a router to browse the Internet simultaneously with a standard or IP telephone communication; generates all of the IP signalling packets necessary to establish an IP telephone call with another teledataphone, without relying on a telephone exchange, a central server or a centralised interface plate which serves as a nexus, an intermediary or a concentrator, all of said devices being public or private; sends and receives IP telephone calls to and from any location in the world without depending exclusively on a single central server, but instead being registered as a user in any Internet Added Value Service Provider (ISP); and interconnects within a local area network, such that each of the users can use his/her own teledataphone to make IP telephone calls and browse simultaneously from his/her computer. By making a telephone call over the Internet with IP protocol using a teledataphone, the user can talk for as long as desired, without any additional cost for telephone pulses. Using the monthly broadband Internet access quota offered by an Internet access provider (ISP), a user can talk for 24 hours per day and 30 days per month and, simultaneously, browse the Internet from his/her computer or computer network.</p> |
