<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for detecting the presence or the absence of blanks in a manuscript to be read, and for outputting a sound guide together with the display of a screen for a user intervention, when blank is detected in the detection result, and to provide its control method and a control program. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader 17 performs image reading processing, and a blank detector 16 performs detection as to whether the read manuscript has the blank. When the blank manuscript is detected, an UI screen control unit 11 controls the display of a blank detection report screen for allowing a user to perform the intervention on the UI screen 10.
