METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANAGING MAINTENANCE INFORMATION OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and device for managing maintenance information of an image forming apparatus in which the content of maintenance performed for the image forming apparatus can be managed appropriately as maintenance information and used effectively.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 acquires maintenance information indicative of the content of maintenance performed in the past from a management unit 2 by communicating with the management unit 2 and displays the maintenance information. On condition that the content of maintenance performed for the image forming apparatus 1 is registered as maintenance information in the management unit 2, maintenance state of the image forming apparatus 1 is released and a transition is made to available state.
