PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel heat exchanger and a carbon black production system using the heat exchanger capable of effectively preventing buckling of a heat exchanger tube. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger has an outer cylinder; a large number of heat exchanger tubes arranged inside the outer cylinder, with the longitudinal direction placed in the axial direction of the outer cylinder; an upper tube plate provided at the upper part of the outer cylinder to close the upper part of the outer cylinder while holding the upper end side of the large number of heat exchanger tubes; a lower tube plate provided at the lower part of the outer cylinder to close the lower part of the outer cylinder while holding the lower end side of the large number of heat exchanger tubes; a baffle plate group composed of a plurality of baffle plates BF disposed between the upper tube plate and the lower tube plate, with each baffle plate pierced with a plurality of heat exchanger tubes to regulate the heat exchanger tubes and to allow gas flowing in the outer cylinder, to meander; and a holding means for holding each baffle plate of the baffle plate group in the outer cylinder in the predetermined position relation in the axial direction of the outer cylinder.
