PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine with a function to select and set a soaking/washing time so that washing can be carried out without consuming excessive washing water, after the lapse of a variable setting time to leave laundry in a state the laundry is soaked. SOLUTION: This washing machine is equipped with a function to select the soaking/washing time by which a whole of the washing machine is controlled without making the weight of a detergent, the washing water, and the laundry the total weight of the laundry, even when soak washing is selected and started, after a prescribed time is elapsed in the state the laundry is soaked and is left as it is.
