摘要 A communication system for transmitting information in digital form from a transmitter to a receiver through a noisy or disturbed channel. Each digit of the digital data to be transmitted is modulated or encoded as one or more radio frequency pulses, each radio frequency pulse being frequency modulated in a distinctive manner in accordance with a predetermined continuous function for at least a portion of its duration. The receiver is constructed to uniquely receive data so modulated or encoded. Two embodiments are described. In one embodiment the data to be transmitted is in the form of pulses and each data pulse is encoded into a plurality of frequency modulated radio frequency pulses. In a second embodiment the data is a series of "ones" and "zeros" and each one and zero is represented by a pulse of radio frequency energy. Each pulse is frequency modulated in a distinctive manner to identify it as a "1" or a "0.
