The method involves determining a time interval in dependence of a moment and a given maximum clutch temperature, and continuously and visually displaying the determined time interval to a driver of a vehicle. The determined time interval indicates the still available time up to activation of a clutch-protection function during activated creep function of an automatic transmission of the vehicle.
