The electromechanical actuator has an electric motor (1) with coupling and gear reduction (4) driving an output shaft (11). The coupling and gear reduction mesh with a crank plate (7) is driven in rotation with an angular travel limited by two stops. A small connecting rod (9) articulates at one end of a crank pin (8), and is articulated at the end of a long connecting rod (10) integral with the output shaft. The two ends of the long connecting rod are guided in displacement along a guide, with the displacement angle between stops being more than 180 degrees. The rod movement is structurally locked near to one of its travel limit stops to allow overriding.
