<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic decomposition device capable of suppressing the discharge of harmful substances such as aldehyde and carboxylic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The photocatalytic decomposition device 13 is provided with a vessel 41 that forms an inner space and a photocatalytic substrate 44 that parts the inner space of the vessel 41. Photocatalytic films 44a, 44b are formed on both surfaces of the photocatalytic substrate 44. Further, a first light intake window 42 is formed on a lateral surface 41a of the vessel 41 and a second light intake window 43 is formed on the opposite lateral surface 41b. The first light intake window 42 is opposed to a fluorescence tube 32 of a liquid crystal display 7. The second light intake window 43 is opposed to a lighting window 8b formed on the upper housing 8. Aldehyde, carboxylic acid and excessive water produced in a reformer 16 are decomposed according to photocatalytic action of the photocatalyst film 44a when being supplied to the vessel 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
