<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of suitably developing a latent image by accurately detecting toner density even when toner of small particle size is used. <P>SOLUTION: A developer in a housing 10 is agitated only by a 1st agitating roller 11 only with agitating blades 18 at a detection part 14a without being diffused. Consequently, toner density can be detected while the detected toner density is prevented from being one-sided owing to diffusion of the developer. A toner sensor 14 can, therefore, accurately detect the toner density. Even when the particle size of the toner is small and the agitating performance of the 1st agitating roller decreases, the toner is securely agitated with the agitating blades 18, so proper replenishment of toner can be performed on the basis of the detected toner density to suitably develop an electrostatic latent image carried on a photoreceptor drum 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
