<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polynucleotide useful for understanding mechanism of human rheumatoid arthritis and to provide a diagnosis kit and method for the same which accurately diagnosis the sideration or possibility of sideration of the human rheumatoid arthritis. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a DNA methylation analysis on an upstream region (including a promoter region) of a translation starting point of a DR3 gene participating in rheumatoid arthritis patient, wherein the analyzed result is: the existence of an allele specific methylation in a CpG sequence existing on from about -380 to 180 bp at the upstream side of the translation starting point (ATG) of the DR3 gene, and in the downstream CpG sequence, all of the DR3 gene derived from normal healthy subjects are in nonmethylated state, and in the case of DR3 gene derived from RA patients, mixed state of nonmethylated state and methylated state are observed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
