<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process the print job of a user or its output suitably, and to harmonize provision of timely service and insurance of security. <P>SOLUTION: A face detection processing section 301 judges whether a face image exists in a photographed image or not. When face is distinguished, position of the middle point, shift, and the like, are detected and the orientation and size of the face are also judged. A face recognition processing section 302 extracts the amount of features from the face image and outputs the identity of a user (user ID) while matching with the amount of features of each registered user. Based on the outputs from the face detection processing section 301 and the face recognition processing section 302, an approach judging section 303 delivers an output indicative of approach state and the user ID.
