<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which reduces a magnification error by contraction of paper in fixing and reduces the difference between magnification errors on the front and the rear in double-sided print. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic system, etc. having a double-sided print mechanism, it is characterized by providing a means for detecting length of paper before the paper enters a fixing unit at the time of single-sided print and a means for detecting the length of the paper after the paper whose single-side is printed passes through the fixing unit, calculating an amount of contraction of the paper by passage of the fixing unit by comparing length of the paper before and after passing the fixing unit and forming a small image in reverse side print on the paper to the image in the single-sided print according to the amount of contraction of the paper in printing on the reverse side of the paper on which the single-sided printing is made. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
