PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling having a coupling shaft capable of being easily machined and formed, and a method for forming a coupling shaft.

SOLUTION: The coupling shaft 47 is provided on an inner periphery on one side with a spline part 101 geared with a drive shaft 103, and on the other side with a space part 135 communicating with the internal part of the coupling, and a partition wall 233 made separately is installed between the space part 135 and the one side provided with the spline part 101 to partition and seal the space part 135 and the spline part 101.
