PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet motor wherein cogging torque and torque ripples can be further reduced. SOLUTION: Anisotropic magnets 6 placed on the inner circumferential side of a rotor yoke 5 are constructed as pole anisotropic magnets. Their thicknesses in the circumferential direction are so set that the ratio of a minimum value to a maximum value is between 0.4 and 0.8. Letting the distance between the center of motor rotation and the center of each anisotropic magnet 6 in the circumferential direction on the inner radius side be D, the distance C between the center in the circumferential direction and the center of orientation of the anisotropic magnet 6 is so set that C=D×(0.4 to 0.8).
