PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dictionary information display control device that stores a variety of dictionary databases in which data are compiled electronically for retrieving and displaying explanatory information such as language translations or meanings corresponding to certain keywords; and to easily make jumps for searches by selectively setting an appropriate target dictionary without requiring the cumbersome operation of selecting the target dictionary or the operation of selecting search keywords on a number of target dictionaries. SOLUTION: An English-Japanese dictionary appropriately preset as a target dictionary by a user on a target dictionary setting table is automatically selected simply by the operation of a jump key 16J and the designation of a target word "life line" according to original dictionary data and the kind of letter of the search word "life life", which is alphabet.
