PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational number detecting device capable of precisely detecting the rotational number. SOLUTION: The rotational number detecting device 1 is comprised of an NE sensor plate 3 and an NE sensor 4 opposite thereto. The NE sensor plate 3 is in such a shape that the distance between the NE sensor 4 and the circumference of the NE sensor plate 3 becomes large around the timing when the rotation of the internal combustion engine accelerates, and the NE sensor 4 approaches the teeth of the NE sensor plate 3 around the timing when the rotation of the internal combustion engine decelerates.
