PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the crime prevention ability of an auxiliary lock having a turning disk, which can be hardly rotated by multipurpose tools other than an exclusive operation knob. SOLUTION: The auxiliary lock for sliding door comprises a first lock piece 3 being in contact with the outdoor side of a center rail of the sliding door from the indoor side, a second lock piece 4 in contact with a door jamb, and an operation mechanism 5 for increasing or reducing a relative interval between both the locks 3 and 4. And the operation mechanism 5 has a turning disk 12 installed to a casing 2 in a freely rotatable manner in order to give a motion relative to the casing 2, to the first lock portion, the second lock portion or both of them; and an operation knob 15 which can be connected to the surface side of the turning disk 12 in a freely detachable manner. The auxiliary lock for sliding door also has a connecting piece 24 having projected connecting stripes 18, all or part of them are connectable, in the operation knob 15 by arranging many connecting stripes 18 extended in a direction from the center of the turning disk 12 to the outside of its radius.
