The invention relates to a method and system for automatically selecting a device for treating a document processing order and is characterised in that during the device selection, two criteria are taken into consideration, namely, a selection according to capabilities of a document processing order and of each device which must be necessarily satisfiable in order to conduct a task and according to affinities of corresponding characteristics of the document processing order and of each device which are not necessarily satisfiable. Said method is particularly advantageous for the document processing orders according to JDF specification as far as said orders, first of all, are non-specifically established and, generally, the selection of a device is obtainable in the further automatic treatment of the document processing order. Said invention makes it possible to optimise the treatment of the document processing order with regart to costs, speed, economical efficiency and the quality of a process. |
