NOX SENSING DEVICES HAVING CONDUCTIVE OXIDE ELECTRODES

A device (10) for sensing gaseous oxide compounds includes an oxygen-ion conducting material (12), at least one pair of electrodes (14, 16) spaced apart by a gap (18). At least one of the pair of electrodes are formed from an oxide material. The device can be used to sense NO_x compounds in hot gas streams having high levels of O₂, such as for automotive applications.
