<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging unit consisting of simple structure which protects a photoreceptor at a state that it is taken out from the apparatus main body and is safely and easily attached to the apparatus main body and an image forming apparatus having the imaging unit. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging unit 10 has a built-in image formation element such as a photoreceptor drum 15 in a case 11 and can be inserted into the image forming apparatus main body by an electrophotographic system in the direction of an arrow A. A protection sheet 20 is provided at a part at the upper part of the case 11 and where the photoreceptor drum 15 is exposed. In the protection sheet 20, an insertion side end part and a detachment side end part are attachably/detachably fixed to the case 11 and a handle 26 for drawing is provided at the detachment side end part. The unit 10 is inserted into the apparatus main body while assuring a gap 29 between the photoreceptor drum 15 and a transfer roller 35 and when insertion is terminated, the photoreceptor drum 15 comes into contact with the transfer roller 35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
