<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission apparatus and method in which massive data can be efficiently transmitted by utilizing an existent network effectively to a maximum. <P>SOLUTION: A feature amount monitoring unit monitors a feature amount of a driving circuit of a copy machine and compares the monitored feature amount with normal feature amount data. If a difference is recognized between the feature amount monitored by the feature amount monitoring unit and the normal feature amount data, an abnormal portion extraction unit extracts the difference recognized by the feature amount monitoring unit as data of an abnormal portion, delivers data of the extracted abnormal portion to a data transmission unit.
