<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device, capable of sufficiently transmitting drawing force of a pretensioner for a shoulder part to a wrap part. <P>SOLUTION: A seat belt webbing 5 comprises a normal belt 5a and an air belt 5b. At the time of a front collision, a gas generator 6b in the pretensioner 6 is ignited first to start the pretensioner 6, so that the seat belt webbing 5 is taken up for prescribed quantity. A shoulder part S is thus moved in the direction of an arrow A to be tightened. Part of the wrap part L slides to pass through an insertion opening 8a in a tongue 8 to move toward the shoulder part S, so that the wrap part L is also tightened. At prescribed time (3-18 msec, for example) after that, an ignition control unit starts an inflator 10. The wrap part L is thus pulled by the air belt 5b to be tightened, part of the shoulder part S also slides to pass through the insertion opening 8a of the tongue 8 to move toward the wrap part L, and the shoulder part S is also tightened further. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
