<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus which can enhance image quality by reducing subscanning-direction misregistration, caused by an unevenness in the manufacture of respective recording heads, of dots recorded by the plurality of recording heads. <P>SOLUTION: Data on a recording position are read from a storage part 82 wherein the data on the subscanning-direction recording positions of respective dots recorded by respective LEDs 80a of respective print heads 32Y-32K are stored. The amount of correction, which is used so that each of the amounts of the subscanning-direction misregistration of the dot recording positions of the print heads 32Y, 32M and 32C for other colors with respect to dot reading positions of the print head 32K for a reference color can fall within a predetermined one, is computed according to the read data. Additionally, light emitting timing of an LED array 80 (LED 80a) of each of the print heads 32Y-32K is controlled so that each of the dot recording positions of the print heads 32Y, 32M and 32C for the other colors can be shifted in the subscanning direction by the computed amount of correction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
