PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a flat display apparatus to a liquid crystal display device e.g. and to guarantee sure operation by integrally forming a peripheral circuit on an insulating substrate as to a driving system by FRC. SOLUTION: A signal pattern SP indicating a change pattern concerned with the display of a false gradation is generated, the logical value of the signal pattern SP is added to the upper side bits D10[1] to D10[5] of image data D10 concerned with the false gradation in accordance with the lower bit D10[0] of the image data D10 and the upper side bits D10[1] to D10[5] to be used for the addition are further divided into the lower side D10[1] to D10[3] and the upper side D10[4], D10[5] to process them.
