PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a microtome replacement blade, which can suppress occurrence of a drum-shaped swollen blade edge in an edging process, and to provide the microtome replacement blade which does not cause any vibration nor slipping to occur when forming a thin strip. SOLUTION: The microtome replacement blade 10 comprises: a blade main body 20; and a blade edge 30 which is disposed on the blade main body 20 and has a cutting face 40 making a knife angleαand a flank 50 expanding from the blade main body 20. The cutting face 40 is made up in a range having the maximum distance of 0.7 mm from the head of the blade edge 30 in the blade width direction, and the flank 50 is made up in a range equal to or smaller than that of the cutting face 40.
