PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof material overlaying structure without reducing design as a roof, by reducing weight burden of a house structure by minimizing weight of a new roof material, by performing construction without removing an existing roof material. SOLUTION: This roof material overlaying structure is provided for remodeling an existing roof 2, by overlaying a plurality of new roof materials 3 on an existing roof 2 laid with a plurality of roof materials 1 so as to superpose an eaves side end part of the other roof material 1 on a ridge side end part of the roof materials 1. The new roof materials 3 are placed in an exposure part 4 of the existing roof material 1 laid on the existing roof 2. The eaves side end part of the new roof materials 3 is positioned on the ridge side more than the eaves side end part of the other existing roof material 1 laid on the just eaves side of the existing roof material 1 placed with this new roof materials 3.
