PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for preventing deposition of spatter capable of drawing out the spatter deposition preventive effect to a maximum by using a spatter deposition preventive liquid without waste while sticking the spatter deposition preventive liquid without generating unevenness irrespective of the shape of a work. SOLUTION: The spatter deposition preventive device 1 comprises a liquid tank 3 to store the spatter deposition preventive liquid 2 and a work supporting body 4 which is arranged above the liquid tank 3 and provided with an elevating/lowering means into the liquid tank 3, as the spatter deposition preventive device for coating spatter deposition preventive liquid on a work 7 to prevent deposition of spatter generated during a welding work, wherein the work 7 temporarily placed in the work supporting body 4 is immersed in the spatter deposition preventive liquid 2 in the liquid tank 3.
