PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment for discharging carbon dioxide which requires only a small amount of power and further, can suppress production of carbon dioxide, and a method for discharging the carbon dioxide. SOLUTION: The equipment 1 for discharging carbon dioxide comprises a liquid carbon dioxide supply device 2 installed on the sea, a conduit 3 which is suspended into the sea and supplies the liquid carbon dioxide from the upper end therethrough by means of the liquid carbon dioxide supply device 2 and a nozzle 4 connected with the lower end of the conduit 3. A check valve 5 for preventing reverse flow of fluid from the nozzle 4 to the conduit 3 is disposed between the lower end of the conduit 3 and the nozzle 4. The conduit 3 is composed of an outer pipe 16 and an inner pipe 17 inserted into the outer pipe 16 so as to be capable of being drawn therefrom, wherein the inner pipe 17 is made an inside pipe line W1 and a pipe line constituted by the outer pipe 16 and the inner pipe 17 is made an outside pipe line W2. The liquid carbon dioxide supply device 2 and a purge gas supply device 21 are connected with the upper end of the inside pipe line W1 and an exhaust device 36 is connected with the upper end of the outside pipe line W2.
