PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine and method and a waste thread net for the machine where a soil removing effect of laundry articles is excellent and reproduction of germs on the laundry articles is suppressed by making a carrier having the function improving a washing effect uniformly contact with washing water in a washing tub. SOLUTION: In the washing machine which is provided with the waste thread net 9 for removing the waste threads in the washing water stored in the washing tub 3 and circulates the washing water in the washing tub 3 through the waste tread net 9 to return into the washing tub 3, the carrier carrying at least a silver compound is housed in the waste tread net 9.
