PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inkjet recording sheet which is improved in print density without impairment of crack resistance and ink absorbing properties, and a manufacturing method thereof.

SOLUTION: The inkjet recording sheet has on a substrate an ink absorbing layer which contains a vapor phase process silica, polyvinyl alcohol or a derivative thereof, a water-soluble nonionic acrylic polymer and a polyvalent metal salt and does not contain a boron compound substantially.
