<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the product life of a discharge lamp, prolong the use period of a projector device and reduce a maintenance cost by properly cooling the discharge lamp serving as a light source for the projector device, and preventing deterioration of a luminance characteristic of the discharge lamp and deterioration of the product life of the discharge lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The projector device includes: the discharge lamp as a light source; a reflector designed such that the discharge lamp is accommodated in it, its internal face is mirror-finished, and an opening for emitting light is made; a cooling fan for sending a cooling air into the reflector; a duct in which a cooling air inlet is formed for guiding the cooling air, created by the cooling fan, into the reflector; and a cooling air guide plate attached to the cooling air inlet and used to guide the cooling air towards the upper face of the discharge lamp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
