<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a cordierite honeycomb structure by which the cordierite honeycomb structure showing reduced pressure loss is obtained. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of producing the cordierite honeycomb structure by adding an alumina source raw material, a silica source raw material and a magnesia source raw material to obtain a cordierite raw material, obtaining body using the resultant cordierite raw material, extruding the resultant body into a honeycomb formed body, drying the resultant honeycomb formed body to obtain a honeycomb dried body and firing the resultant honeycomb dried body, the cordierite raw material is obtained by adding ≥10 mass% 1st alumina source raw material having circularity of ≥0.7 and 1-10 μm average particle diameter to the total mass of the cordierite raw material at least as the alumina source raw material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
