<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film which can be decreased in amount of a retardation regulator and have a good film dimensional stability under hot environment while maintaining low optical anisotropy, and to provide an optical compensation film with excellent viewing angle characteristics, optical materials such as polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal display (in particular, large-sized screen) using thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulose acylate film characterized in that a front retardation value Re<SB>(λ)</SB>at a wavelength of λ nm and a retardation value Rth<SB>(λ)</SB>in the direction of the thickness of the film satisfy following formulas: (I) 0≤Re<SB>(630)</SB>≤10 and ¾Rth<SB>(630)</SB>¾≤25, (II) ¾Re<SB>(400)</SB>-Re<SB>(700)</SB>¾≤10 and ¾Rth<SB>(400)</SB>-Rth<SB>(700)</SB>¾≤35, and (III) 0≤ΔRe<SB>(630)</SB>/m<SP>2</SP>≤5 and ¾ΔRth<SB>(630)</SB>/m<SP>2</SP>¾≤10, an average of acetylation degree is 61.0-62.5, wherein ΔRe<SB>(630)</SB>/m<SP>2</SP>is an in-plane Re dispersion per 1 m<SP>2</SP>(unit:nm) and ¾ΔRth<SB>(630)</SB>/m<SP>2</SP>¾ is an in-plane Rth dispersion per 1 m<SP>2</SP>(unit:nm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
