PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable grasping of whether unauthorized exchange of a storage device is performed regardless of whether an image forming apparatus to be mounted with the general-purpose storage device is connected to a monitoring device via a communication line. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 comprises an interface section 110 for mounting the storage device, a writing section 120 for writing image data outputted from an image reading section for reading an image formed on a recording material and outputting image data corresponding to the image and data received via the communication line to the storage device mounted to the interface section 110, a determining section 130 for determining whether predetermined certification data created by a certificate authority is written in the storage device 200 mounted to the interface section 110, and a reporting section 140 for reporting the determination result when the determination result by the determining section 130 is negative.
