PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article for a pet animal containing specific fragrant ingredient(s) to inhibit or mitigate the stress response of the pet animal. SOLUTION: The article for pet animal contains fragrant ingredient(s) that is(are) retrieved from the leaves, especially fresh green leaves, of a plant, or equivalent thereto. Specifically, the fragrant ingredient(s) is one or a combination of two or more substances selected from (3Z)-hexanol, (3Z)-hexenol, (3E)-hexenol, (3E)-hexenal, (2E)-hexenol, (2E)-hexenal, n-hexenol and n-hexanal.
