<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can check a compatibility of optional functions. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is connected to a network. The image forming apparatus is equipped with a storage means which stores configuration information of the image forming apparatus, an optional information downloading means which downloads information related to a plurality of optional functions from a control apparatus connected via the network, a selecting means which selects at least one optional function from the plurality of optional functions, a checking software downloading means which downloads a checking software corresponding to the optional function selected by the selecting means, and a judging means which executes the checking software downloaded by the checking software downloading means, thereby judging the compatibility of the optional function selected by the selecting means to the image forming apparatus on the basis of the configuration information stored in the storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
