<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rewrite storage contents of a programmable ROM at once by use of one rewrite program. <P>SOLUTION: A rewritable storage area 12a of the ROM stores firmware 403, the rewrite program 404 rewriting the storage contents of the storage area 12, and a control program 405 for processing described below (A). When new firmware is received, the rewrite program 404 is copied onto a RAM 3 (B). Processing based on the rewrite program 404 copied onto the RAM 3 is executed to rewrite the data stored in the storage area 12a, and the processing is terminated (C). Since the rewrite program 404 is once copied to the RAM 13, and the storage contents of the ROM are rewritten based on the copied rewrite program 404, the storage contents of the ROM can be rewritten at once by the one rewrite program 404. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
