<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision protection device for a vehicle, capable of instantaneously determining the kind of an object, prohibiting actuation of a collision protection means in a case where the object is not a pedestrian for preventing generation of a great deal of labor and cost for unnecessary repair of the collision protection means, and properly varying actuation characteristics in case where the object is a pedestrian in accordance with the physique of the pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: This collision protection device 1 for a vehicle is provided with a bumper air bag device 10, a bonnet pop-up device 13, a window air bag device 15, a control device 20 to control the devices 10, 13, and 15, a collision detection sensor 21, a communication antenna 22, and an IC reader 23. The control device 20 determines the kind of an object based on a signal from an IC tag 6, and controls the bumper airbag device 10, the bonnet pop-up device 13, and the window airbag device 15 in accordance with result of determination for the kind of the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
