<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable travel control without producing uncomfortable feeling in a driver even when travel of a vehicle before a preceding vehicle passed by a two-wheeled vehicle is controlled. <P>SOLUTION: When the two-wheeled vehicle as the preceding vehicle is apt to pass (step S4) and the two-wheeled vehicle is decelerating (step S5), the travel controller previously increases the target inter-vehicle distance L* and provides a zippy following characteristic (step S6).
