PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene expression profile retrieving apparatus for retrieving cells on the basis of the gene expression profile by making gene expression profile data at different platforms available.

SOLUTION: The gene expression profile retrieval apparatus 10 comprises: a gene expression profile DB 12 for storing gene expression profile of known cells at a plurality of different platforms; a comparison gene selection part 16 for selecting a plurality of comparison genes from a gene commonly contained in the platform of a query profile and that of the gene expression profile stored in the gene expression profile DB 12; an order imparting part 18 for imparting order in accordance with a quantity of expression to the comparison genes of the known cell in the query profile and the gene expression profile DB 12; and a similar cell decision part 20 for obtaining a cell most similar to the gene expression profile of the query profile on the basis of the imparted order.
