<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the fermentation vessel by increasing the fermentation rate of dry methane fermentation to enhance the VS load and stabilize the treatment of organic waste by preventing a decrease in the concentration of solids within the fermentation vessel. <P>SOLUTION: A mixture of a low-C/N-ratio organic waste, e.g. manure of livestock, organic sludge or garbage, with a blasted product of a plant organic waste, e.g. pruned branches, is subjected to dry methane fermentation in a TS concentration of 15-40 wt.%. The fermentation residue obtained in methane fermentation of the mixture is preferably returned to the methane fermentation process. Preferably, the low-C/N-ratio organic waste has a C/N ratio of 4-20 and a water content of 80-98 wt.%; the blasted product of a plant organic waste has a C/N ratio of 40-250 and a water content of 10-80 wt.%; and the mixture has a C/N ratio of 20-60 and a water content of 40-70 wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
