<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an eye lotion capable of being thickened on a surface of an eyeball when applied to an eye, while having relatively low viscosity before applied to the eye. <P>SOLUTION: This eye lotion contains an ophthalmic thickening agent consisting of a combination of hydroxyethyl cellulose and dextran, wherein the lotion specifically develops a synergistic thickening effect when mucin coexists therewith. Therefore, the eye lotion is thickened on the surface of the eyeball by being brought into contact with the mucin in a lacrimal fluid layer, when applied to the eye, so that the eye lotion sustains desired pharmaceutical efficacy and refreshing feelings. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
